Blackwater Jadmór Foe Folio
A downloadable game
The Blackwater Jadmór has surfaced.
Jadmórva are enormous, many-headed, semi-aquatic predators adapted to poisoned lakes, cursed wetlands, drowned ruins, and black-water hunting grounds. They wait beneath the surface, poison whole stretches of water, preserve their victims in submerged larders, and drag the unwary into the deep where panic, venom, and drowning finish the hunt. Worse, cutting off a head is only the beginning unless the stump is burned before it grows back.
The packet is designed for game masters who want a creature that feels like a living threat before initiative is rolled. Jadmórva are built around warning signs, ambush tactics, poisoned terrain, investigation, fire counterplay, and the deeply unpleasant moment when the party realises the lake itself has been hunting them.
Inside the supplement:
- 8 jadmórva ecosystem stat blocks
- a ready-to-run APL 11 encounter with scaling guidance
- 7 premade scaling encounter groups
- investigation clues and loot
- lair actions and regional effects
- head-severing, regeneration, and fire counterplay rules
- tactical guidance for running the drowning threat fairly
- harvesting and crafting inspiration
- lore and ecology for adapting them into your own world
- creature artwork by Joseph J Ramirez
This compact but complete foe folio gives you enough material to use the monsters immediately, adapt it to your own campaign, and make it feel like part of a living world. The Blackwater Jadmór packet includes the core creature, parasites, tadpole swarms, hatchlings, mire and spitting variants, a Broodmother, the ancient Blackwater Tyrant, tactical roles, a ready-made encounter, clues that change how the fight opens, and harvesting/crafting material for groups that enjoy monster parts, alchemy, poisoncraft, or item creation.
The encounter in the packet, The Merchant Caravan Massacre, is built around a deepwood trade road, missing travellers, preserved bodies, yellow-green foam, false voices in the reeds, and a many-headed predator waiting in a black-water lake. It is intended for an APL 11 party, with scaling guidance from APL 8 through APL 17+.
Rules Compatibility
This supplement is written for fifth-edition fantasy roleplaying games. It is balanced against 2014-style fifth-edition encounter expectations, while remaining usable with the 2024 rules.
For 2024 tables, use the current rules glossary for conditions, hiding, surprise, exhaustion, and other core procedures. Where a stat block provides a specific DC, escape DC, save, or condition duration, use the text in this supplement.
